The village of Nadap, which belongs to the Etyek Buda Wine Region, is located in the immediate vicinity of Lake Velence, in a beautiful, sloping region that has been a thriving grape grower for centuries. The charm of the landscape captured the Bakos family, who settled here and created a home, an active rural life, a farm, and a winery for themselves and the generations that followed them.
They asked DDS studio to create a wine tasting space and terrace on the lower level of their new guesthouse overlooking the vineyard, to design a stylish yet timeless, homely, bistro-style wine bar that fits the spirit of the place, where they would representatively store and present their own wines at themed evenings and events.
During the design process, we used wine-related processes, the materials used in production, and natural shapes and colors as inspiration.
We have created unique contemporary artworks in the spirit of adaptation and reuse. The focal point at the entrance is a unique lamp made from the remaining staves of used oak barrels, and the ceramic wall covering by ceramic artist István Zakar creates a distinctive and defining design element in the space.
