Demeter Design Studio won the interior redesign of the Budapest office of CBRE, the world’s leading commercial real estate services and investment company, through a design competition. The brief was complex: in addition to meeting fresh, distinctive global design expectations, it also aimed to expand the existing office by several hundred square meters. Throughout the design process, sustainability and CBRE’s specific requirements were given top priority.

The backbone of the office is an “open corridor” starting from the entrance. Beyond its functional role, the concept was reinforced from a design perspective with a distinctive floor finish and a custom-designed ceiling and lighting system. A large-scale, representative reception area was created for clients, while CBRE employees were provided with open office spaces, meeting rooms of various sizes, phone booths, printer points, lockers, and a large “social hub” incorporating a dining kitchen and a coffee point.

A standout feature of the office is a spacious internal terrace planted with large greenery, visible from much of the workspace, offering a winter garden–like experience both visually and functionally.
